The original: Chocolate Butter Frosting

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk (scanty)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Method

3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, 3 tablespoons butter } melt together

Blend well. Chill until thickened.

Note: Frosts one 13x9 cake; double it for a layer cake.
